Digital Decay
The sculptural piece Digital Decay invites viewers into a scene frozen in time that shows the mysterious and unpredictable period after death. Oftentimes, the products of dying are overshadowed by the actual event itself. However, this period is just as important and sometimes strangely beautiful. The television set and the scene inside bridge the gap between technological and organic - both static and ephemeral. It questions: after life, what is gone, what remains, and what is to come? This piece includes manmade and found objects, including a television, wiring, and a deer skull, as well as natural components like moss and mushrooms.
